BALL GROUND — The Ball Ground Business Association is hosting a free event for families Sept. 8 at Ball Ground’s City Park.

The free family Movie Night is set for next at 6 p.m. Saturday downtown. The movie is scheduled to be “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.”

“This will be our fourth annual Movie Night event,” said Wendy Corlett, owner of Acclaim Professional Services, and president of the association. “Each year the event grows to include more activities for the kids, gets local businesses involved and makes for great family time.”

The Ball Ground Business Association has teamed up with other local volunteer groups for the event which will include a free bounce house and vendor-sponsored games for the kids, plus food and snacks for sale.

The event is also sponsored by the Ball Ground Lions Club, the Optimists and several businesses.

The event will culminate with a free movie shown on a giant inflatable screen in City Park off Gilmer Ferry Road and Main Street in downtown Ball Ground.

The group is still looking for sponsors and local businesses can sponsor a table at the event.

Families are encouraged to bring their blankets and chairs and come out to enjoy the festivities in the park and to find a perfect spot for enjoying the movie which starts at dusk, Corlett said.

The Ball Ground Business Association has free Lunch and Learn meetings bi-monthly on the second Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
