John Hartin, 38, was arrested late Friday afternoon and charged with two counts of burglary, according to Lt. Jay Baker, spokesperson for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The burglary occurred on Sept. 1, Baker said.
According to Baker, Detective David Barone made the arrest.
Hartin is accused of entering a home inside Bradshaw Farms in the early morning hours and stealing household items, he said.
The suspect allegedly stole a guitar collection valued at around $100,000 from the second home, Baker said in a release.
“The guitars were later discovered abandoned on the side of a road in Marietta,” Baker said.
Investigators received a tip from a resident inside Bradshaw Farms who took down the tag number of a suspicious vehicle, which led to the arrest.
“That tag number led investigators to Hartin where they located evidence to link him to the burglaries,” Baker said.
Hartin is in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with bond set at $22,400.
