A 22 year-old woman is in critical condition after she was removed from underneath a pickup truck in a Wednesday morning wreck.
The woman, who was driving a Buell motorcycle, and a man in a Chevrolet S-10 truck were involved in the collision, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Tim Cavender said. Cavender said emergency service personnel and members of the Canton Fire Department responded to the accident on Reinhardt College Parkway near Hickory Nut Drive around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Both vehicles had left the highway and traveled down the embankment, Cavender said.
“The driver of the pickup truck, a 62-year-old male, appeared to be shaken, but did not have any serious injuries,” Cavender said.
No further details of the woman’s condition or the cause of the accident were provided as of Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
Cavender said both lanes of Reinhardt College Parkway were blocked until the wreckage could be removed.
