Blind loyalty to party leading country nowhere

DEAR EDITOR:

America is at a critical crossroad. Fork left and we get more of the same of the past four years. Spend more than we take in, increased debt, more borrowed money to give to countries that hate us, more legislation stifling the small and large business sector, stagnant job growth and more dependence on big government and foreign energy.

Tax increases on the rich (who already pay most of the tax) would not make a dent in the national debt and merely polarizes Americans when we should be pulling together. We understand that taxes are needed, but not until most corruption is stopped and mismanagement corrected. It is a fact that Big G. cannot do anything efficiently.

So much that has happened over the past four years that has put America on a path to destruction, either through naïveté, ignorance or intentional behavior. However it is, the result is the same. America has been weakened militarily and economically while thwarting the Constitution, bypassing Congress and attacking our basic principles of freedom of religion and free speech under the guise of being politically correct.

We bend over backwards in tolerance for the few but the gesture is not returned for the masses. Common sense seems to have no place in America anymore. The Department of Justice ignores obvious violations while bringing lawsuits against its own states in collaboration with foreign countries.

What I don’t understand is how so many are blindly loyal to a brand when they themselves will suffer the consequences as well as the rest of us. This includes our senators and congressmen and women, the media and intelligent citizens. I have to ask, at what point do these loyalists say enough is enough?

Is there a point that can be reached where they could consider voting for the alternative? Does party loyalty supersede one’s religious values and the best interests of our country? Simply put, America cannot withstand another four years like the past without being negatively changed forever.

A strong America is good for peace, the economy of the U.S. and of the world and the welfare of our citizens. Our forefathers, our patriots, our soldiers in war did not sacrifice all to end in this way. If you fall into this group, I pray you will reconsider your vote in November.
