Maggie Powers, 19, of Canton, will compete for the title of Miss Georgia USA 2013 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Woodland Performing Arts Theatre.
Powers is the daughter of Bill and Joni Powers. She attends Chattahoochee Technical College.
Her hobbies include singing, coaching cheerleading, and painting.
She is pursuing a degree in business with the hopes of opening her own boutique one day, she said.
Lauren Debranski, the daughter of Ron and Andrea Debranski of Woodstock, will represent Woodstock in the Miss Teen USA Pageant.
She attends Etowah High School.
Yasmeen A. Furman, 15, of Canton will also compete for the title of Miss Georgia Teen USA 2013, representing her area.
Furman is the daughter of Leroy and Natasha Furman. She attends Cherokee High School and her activities and hobbies include painting, sketching, photography and writing poems, songs and fictional stories.
The Miss Georgia USA Pageant is the official preliminary to the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants. The young woman chosen as Miss Georgia USA 2013 will go on to represent the state of Georgia in the Miss USA Pageant.
The winner of the Miss Teen USA pageant will represent Georgia at the national Miss Teen USA pageant.
