County, city offices closing for holiday

Most public offices and services in Cherokee County will close for at least one day to observe Thanksgiving.

Cherokee County government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Waste Management pickup will be delayed one day for customers with Thursday and Friday pick-up times. Thursday’s customers will have their garbage picked up on Friday, while Friday customers will have their waste picked up Saturday.

Waste Management’s offices will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Post offices throughout the county are closed Thanksgiving Day, as are local banks.

City offices for the county’s municipalities will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Cherokee County Tax Commissioner’s offices will close Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will close Thursday and Friday. All branches will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Students and staff of Cherokee County schools will enjoy a weeklong break. Schools are closed Monday through Friday this week.
