WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock City Council will discuss whether to request the local delegation to approve term limits on Woodstock elected officials at its Monday night meeting.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center.

Last year, the council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution to change the city’s charter to limit council members to four consecutive four-year terms. The delegation denied the request.

The council will revisit the resolution to determine whether or not to take the issue back up with the state legislators during the Dec. 6 legislative meeting to be take place at the Cherokee County Conference Center.

In other business, the council will consider a resolution to support a grant application to construct a trail head and restroom project at Olde Rope Mill Park.

Provided by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the maximum grant is $100,000. The city estimates the project’s cost at about $200,000.

If the funding is approved, the city will finance 100 percent of the total project cost and be reimbursed for 80 percent of eligible costs by Georgia DNR.

Additionally, the council will:

* Consider additional compensation for services rendered for employees;

n Consider a price change for a new rescue vehicle for the Woodstock Fire Department at $26,888;

* Consider approval for document destruction by Georgia Document Destruction Inc. for wastewater treatment plant records;

* Consider the purchase of a 2013 Ford F150 for the stormwater division of the Public Works Department for a total cost of $32,683.17;

* Consider a budget amendment to transfer $37,677.50 from the waste water treatment plant to the water and sewer customer collections department for a position transfer with no net change to the budget; and

* Consider the 2013 city calendar and potential dates for council’s 2013 planning retreat.
