Cherokee (11-5, 4-2) couldn't build a lead of more than five points at the end of any quarter before outscoring Milton 18-8 in the fourth.
Zack Kvam added 12 points and four assists, while Jeremiah Gill had nine points and Jovan Morris eight points and three steals. Armony Parker contributed seven points and four assists.
Cherokee, which has won its last six games, will be at Etowah on Friday.
Sequoyah 51, Forsyth Central 44: Dalton Satterfield and Solomon Ajose each scored 11 points to lead the visiting Chiefs to the Region 7AAAAA victory.
Blaine White added nine for Sequoyah (16-3, 9-0) which remained undefeated in region play. Logan Taylor and Brandon Ingleton each had eight.
Sequoyah will at Creekview on Tuesday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
River Ridge 81, Cedartown 23: The Lady Knights forced 35 steals — 23 in the first half — and rolled to a win in Region 7AAAA play.
The Lady Knights (11-8, 2-1) opened the game on a 28-4 run and were never threatened.
Jordan Livesay led the way with 20 points and four rebounds, Lucy Stone finished with 16 points and eight steals and Jessica Baker added 11 points.
River Ridge will travel to Cass on Friday.
Sequoyah 50, Forsyth Central 29: Emily Ryan connected on five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points as the Lady Chiefs rolled to a Region 7AAAAA victory.
Kennedy Williams scored nine points and Lauren Hartman added 11 rebounds in the win.
Sequoyah (8-11, 4-5) will travel to archrival Creekview on Tuesday.
