Cherokee County School District schools, Chatahoochee Tech, and Cherokee Charter Academy are closed today

Update: Both the Appalachian (Jasper) and Canton campuses of Chattahoochee Technical College have also been closed for the rest of the day, according to a release from the college. All other campuses remain open, the release states.

CCSD cancelled classes and closed school offices for the day shortly before 6 a.m. District spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby said per district policy, all curricular and extra-curricular activities today have been cancelled. She said district officials have not yet made a determination about weekend activities.

They made the right call regardless of the outcome. If you are going to err, it is easier to cancel school rather than start the day and have to sent students home early. Last time this happened there were kids stranded at schools until 7 pm or later. Good Job.
