Cherokee County School District students excelled at the Piedmont Regional Technology Competition, and brought home an impressive 32 first-place awards, 27 second-place awards and 22 third-place awards.
The regional competition was on Jan. 26 at River Ridge High School and was open to students in grades three to 12.
Students were able to enter their work in a variety of categories such as 3D design, multimedia applications, digital video production, animated graphic designs and robotics and then compete against other students in their grade for first-, second- and third-place awards.
District officials said financial support for the event was provided by Northside Hospital-Cherokee and the PTA.
All first-place winners will travel to Macon for the State Technology Competition on March 9.
