Sequoyah wrestlers also participated in the Loganville sectional, but the Chiefs’ results were not available by press time.

n CLASS AAAA: River Ridge had just one wrestler qualify for the sectional at Pickens, and after a solid performance, Noah Smith will be going to the Class state meet with an eighth-place finish.

Smith, who wrestles at 145 pounds, said it had been his goal to make it to state all season.

The sophomore began the year wrestling at 152, but he dropped down a class over the Christmas break and found considerable success.
