Employers with the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta are looking for more than 1,000 new employees to staff retail stores going in the new Woodstock development.

Slated to open this July, the Woodstock outlet mall is hosting a job fair Thursday at Etowah High School to staff more than 30 retail outlet stores, according to a release by the Georgia Department of Labor.

“Ever since the news that the outlet mall was coming, the main questions we have received are about how people can get a job there. This job fair will answer those questions and offers an excellent opportunity to work at this exciting new project in Woodstock,” said Kyle Bennett, acting director of the Woodstock Downtown Development Authority.

The fair will be held from noon to 8 p.m. at the school, located at 6565 Putnam Ford Drive in Woodstock.

The following designer stores intend to seek employees at the event: Aeropostale, Bass, Bose, Carter’s, Clarks, Cole Haan, Dress Barn, Easy Spirit, Famous Footwear, Fox, Gold Toe, Guess, Gymboree, Haggar, Hartstrings, J. Crew, Jockey, Johnston & Murphy, Jones New York, Jos. A. Bank, Journeys, Justice, Kasper, Lucky Brand, Maidenform, Naartjie Kids, Naturalizer, New Balance, Nike Factory Store, Nine West, OshKosh B’Gosh, P.S.From Aeropostale, Van Heusen, Vans, Wilsons Leather and more.

Organizers request that potential employees dress appropriately and bring copies of resumes and cover letters. Both part-time and full-time positions will be available and salary information will be discussed by employers.

The 370,000-square-foot facility along Ridgewalk Parkway is a joint venture of CBL and Horizon Group Properties, while Horizon is solely responsibly for leasing and managing the outlet shops. The new facility is west of the new interchange on Interstate 575 at Exit 9.

The management company said the retail center is expected to attract more than 4 million shoppers annually from around the state and the Southeast region..

I am glad to see the new Outlet Mall opening in 4 1/2 months. That place will become a destination point for lots of shoppers. Too bad that there will be no other business development around Ridgewalk due to restrictive zoning rules that are anti-business. I am happy to see the mall open, however.
