Spencer Hren and Luke Mixon won 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Woodstock took North Cobb to a third set in two other matches. David Draghiceanu won the first set at No. 2 singles 6-0 before losing the next two, as did Richard Johnson, who opened with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
Woodstock (1-2) will host Roswell on Tuesday to begin Region 5AAAAAA play.
BASEBALL
Late Wednesday
Woodstock 4, River Ridge 3: The Wolverines rallied from a 3-2 deficit with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the home victory.
River Ridge jumped out in front 3-0 before Woodstock (1-1) scored a run in the first and another in the second.
Woodstock plated the game-tying and game-winning runs with no outs in the seventh.
Jack Brannon singled to lead off the frame and was replaced by pinch runner Tyler Shields. Dalton Delay’s bunt single moved Shields over, but some fielding mishaps allowed Shields to come around to score and tie the game.
Delay reached third on his single, and Jimmy Walker, who batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs, scored Delay in the next at-bat for the winning run.
Zach Zillweger was 2-for-2 for the Wolverines, while Dakota Kinney (1-0) earned the win after pitching two innings of relief and striking out three.
Woodstock will host Pebblebrook today.
