A Christian writers’ conference will be March 16 at a Woodstock church, and aspiring authors are invited to come out and learn more about writing.

The Prayer and Praise Christian Fellowship Church off of Bells Ferry Road will host the annual Christian Authors Guild writers’ mini-conference next Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Known as Coffee and Quill, the mini-conference gives local writers and authors the opportunity to network and sharpen their skills.

The guest speakers for this year’s conference are award-winning author Jenny L. Cote and Georgia District 14 Senator Barry Loudermilk.

A continental breakfast will be offered before the conference at 8:30 a.m.

The event is open to visitors free of charge.

Cote, who also is a speaker and producer, offers creative writing workshops at schools and universities around the country as well as abroad. She will present “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Deadlines” at the conference.

Cote developed an early passion for God, history and young people, according to information about the conference, and she beautifully blends these passions together in her two fantasy fiction series, “The Amazing Tales of Max and Liz” and “Epic Order of the Seven.”

She has been likened to C.S. Lewis by book reviewers and bloggers.

In addition to being a veteran of the United States Air Force, small business owner and dedicated public servant, Senator Loudermilk is also a public and motivational speaker on American history, the Constitution and Christian heritage. He will present “In Their Shoes: Researching Historical Events” at the writer’s conference.

Loudermilk is also the author of “And Then They Prayed: Moments in American History Impacted by Prayer.” He has been featured on national television and radio, as well as numerous newspapers and magazines.

The event will conclude at noon with book signings and announcements of winners from the organization’s writing contests.
