Lisa Barnett, owner of Creative Cuts Salon in Canton, is holding a “Pulling for Tripp” event Monday to benefit Tripp Halstead, the little boy from Winder who was injured when a large tree branch fell onto his head outside his Winder day care center.
For a $30 donation to the Tripp Halstead Fund, those who contribute will receive a conditioning treatment, blow dry, facial, foundation match and mineral makeover.
“I decided to do this because if it was my child, I would hope others would help us. And the love she (his mother) has for him is just unbelievable, it just touched our hearts,” said Barnett, who has a 15-month-old.
The Pulling for Tripp Creative Cuts Event will be 2-7 p.m. at Creative Cuts Hair Salon at 2271 Holly Springs Parkway, Suite 103.
Donations from the event will go directly to Bill and Stacy Halstead, Barnett said.
“The No.1 purpose for the need of donations is to be sure Stacy and Bill can meet Tripp’s every need. He needs his parents with him as much as possible. Let’s help make this happen.” Barnett said.
There are three ways to donate for Saturday’s event. PNC Bank has set up a donation fund for Tripp. Those who wish to participate can visit any PNC branch and donate to the Tripp Halstead fund. Visit www.pnc.com for the nearest branch.
Those who want to be a part of the event can also visit www.team
boom4tripp.com and click “donate” to make a $30 donation.
Donations can also be made at the salon on April 15. Those who are donate online or at the bank are asked to print their receipt and bring it April 15 for verification.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the Cherokee Tribune’s news partner, Tripp Halstead had to have his gall bladder removed Friday, but came out of surgery and was doing well later that day, according to the family.
The 2-year-old went home last week, but he was rushed back to the hospital on Monday.
Doctors told the family that he’ll be in pain for a few weeks from Friday’s incision, Fox 5 reported.
