Update: 4:06 p.m.: The road has been reopened

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is advising that due to a wreck this morning, Highway 372—also known as Ball Ground Road—will be closed near George McClure Lane in Free Home until about 4 p.m.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, said that a 60-year-old Ball Ground man drove into a telephone pole there at about 7:13 a.m., and power lines are now down over the road.

The car’s driver, Daniel Diebolt, was the only person in the car and was transported to North Fulton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Baker said.
