CANTON — Canton Police say a missing woman who was last seen near downtown Saturday has been discovered in an area hospital.

The woman had allegedly gone missing once before and also was at a hospital that time, police said.

The woman, Karen Jackson, 55, of Canton had last been seen walking down Cherokee Street toward Dr. John T. Pettit Street at about 11 a.m. Saturday in the latest incident, said Pacer Cordry, spokesman for the Canton Police Department.

Police put out a description and asked for the public’s help in locating her.

Jackson lives in an apartment complex on Cherokee Street, Cordry said, and had been reported missing before, but it turned out to be a false alarm.

“It turned out she was in the hospital,” Cordry said.

Police did not disclose the name of the hospital because of privacy issues.

“Our officers went to the hospital to confirm it was her,” he said.

This woman has been missing since Saturday morning and the Canton PD are asking people to help in the search three day later. Why so late about getting this information out to the general public?
