On April 9, Air New Zealand conducted its first inflight focus group on a flight between Los Angeles and London Heathrow. What was learned? Uber-frequent travelers say work before you fly, dress smart, keep chatter to a minimum, and have a jet lag game plan before you set foot on the plane.

The Star Alliance carrier, known for liberating passengers from routine air travel, drilled into the habits of an invited panel of travel experts through interactive inflight exercises including Rorschach inkblot tests, word associations and haikus. Topics ranged from pre-flight preparation, what to wear, inflight etiquette, tips for working inflight and ways to minimize the jet lag often associated with flying between Los Angeles to London.

For more tips, tricks and insights from Air New Zealand’s No Lag to London focus group, including their list of top inflight guilty pleasures and carry-on essentials, check out the infographic.
