Police said Monday they have identified the body of a 16-year-old boy found dead in a Woodstock apartment complex Friday morning as Woodstock High School student Alexsander Fraire.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, said Monday morning that the results from an autopsy performed on Fraire’s body Saturday are still pending and will likely take weeks.

Sheriff’s deputies found Fraire dead at the Terraces of Town Lake apartment complex about 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.

Fraire lived in Woodstock but was visiting friends at the apartment complex.

Baker said Friday that investigators believe alcohol may have played a role in the teen’s death.

“Preliminary indications are that the teen was highly intoxicated,” Baker said Friday. “Detectives are investigating the events that took place prior to his death. There have been several persons questioned and more left to question. No charges have been filed.”

The investigation is ongoing, Baker said Monday.
