The Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority is advising residents of a water boil notice for part of the Steels Bridge and Bells Ferry Road area beginning Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The outage is planned for maintenance and will cause water pressure in the affected area to drop, the authority said in a release Monday.

With pressure low, a potential hazard exists and residents are urged to boil their water for at least one minute before consumption, the authority said.

The authority said the water boil advisory will be lifted for the roughly 100 homes in the area once the maintenance is complete and tests have been done to ensure that the water is safe.

The outage affects the area near the intersection of Steels Bridge Road and Bells Ferry Road, including Sixes Road United Methodist Church, Wooten Road, Alex Street, Cherokee Point, Falcon Point Subdivision, Lemon Drive, and Lemon Trail, the authority said.
