The suspect went into the Rite Aid on Marietta Highway at about 7:30 p.m. and handed a pharmacist a note asking for prescription drugs, said Pacer Cordry, spokesman for the Canton Police Department.
After handing over the note, the man showed the pharmacist a handgun he had tucked in his
waistband, Cordry said.
Cordry said the suspect then left through the front entrance of the store and fled on foot with a “large quantity” of drugs.
“Detectives processed the scene and collected evidence that will be analyzed at the crime lab,” Cordry said.
Detectives also obtained a photo of the suspect caught on the pharmacy’s surveillance camera.
The suspect is described as a white man about 6 feet tall wearing a straw hat, white button-up shirt, blue jeans and sneakers, Cordry said.
Names or classifications of the drugs stolen by the man are not being released at the request of investigators, Cordry said.
