The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is expressing thanks to the public after an Acworth man who went missing Monday was found in south Georgia.

Ted “Teddy” Adkins III, 32, was located Wednesday afternoon in south Georgia following a police search of about 16 hours, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Adkins was reported missing by his family late Tuesday night after he was last seen at about noon Monday driving a 2004 black Ford Expedition.

Baker said it was believed that he could be in danger due to his mental state.

By 4:30 Wednesday, Baker said the Sheriff’s Office had distributed Adkins’ information locally and nationally prior to his discovery slightly later in the afternoon.

Baker said Adkins was found safe.
