From staff reports

The company now in charge of Cherokee County School District custodial services is looking to hire about 25 full-time and substitute employees Wednesday.

Aramark will have a job fair Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cherokee County School District Transportation Training Center in Canton, and interviews will be conducted on site.

The company is looking to hire 25 or more custodians to work in Cherokee County School District’s schools and facilities, in addition to their current staff.

Additional hiring is needed because 33 custodians have retired or resigned since January, said Cherokee School District spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby.

The CCSD Transportation Training Center is at 1665 Hickory Road in Canton, off Interstate 575, exit 14.

Aramark said on their flier that the company is looking for “talented individuals to fill the following roles: Head Custodian or Custodian.”

Aramark was chosen by a 6-1 vote of the Board of Education in July as the company to outsource custodial services, with board member Kelly Marlow opposed.
