CANTON — The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is advising residents and motorists of possible traffic issues during the Hickory Flat Out 5K Road Race on Monday.

The race beginning at 7 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church will run through the Township subdivision and will shut down East Cherokee Drive between Bart Manous and Lower Union Hill Road outside Canton, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

This portion of East Cherokee Drive will be closed until the race ends at 9:30 a.m., Baker said.
