A 16-year-old girl was in serious condition after the car she was driving crashed into a power pole on Old Orange Mill Road in the Macedonia community about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians stated that the female had “severe cuts to her left arm and leg,” and according to Capt. Freddie Townsend, “may have some internal injuries.” “She was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital in serious condition,” Cherokee County Fire and Emergencies spokesman Tim Cavender said.
The teenager was driving a dark green Nissan Pathfinder, which left the road at 775 Old Orange Mill Road in the Macedonia community on Tuesday night and went down an embankment, striking a power pole and downing power lines, Cavender said.
Georgia State Patrol officials said the cause of the wreck was still under investigation on Wednesday and the young woman’s name will be released “once a determination on charges has been made.”
According to Cavender, no other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.
Both lanes of Old Orange Mill Road were blocked until the area was cleared, Cavender said.
