A 61-year-old Woodstock man died Saturday morning after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck outside Canton, police said.

Frank Hyland was pronounced dead at WellStar Kennestone Hospital after a wreck with a Toyota Tundra on Highway 20 at about 11:15 a.m., said Georgia State Patrol Spokesman Gordy Wright.

Wright said 55-year-old Mary Hyland was thrown from the motorcycle and had to be airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.

The crash happened about 5 miles east of Canton when the truck driven by Pablo Martinez, 49, of Ball Ground, turned off of Hampton Station Boulevard and the motorcycle hit the left side of the truck, Wright said.

Wright said Martinez was not injured.

The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting an investigation into the wreck.

“Charges in the crash are pending the completion of their work,” Wright said, but “alcohol is not suspected.”
