DEAR EDITOR: As a graduate of Kennesaw State, I am writing to express my extreme distaste for the article “Biting the hand that feeds you: The way of academia,” by Roger Hines.

The article was hateful, which your paper supposedly does not allow. The article ignored the facts, claiming that, for some reason, we don’t have a “predominant culture” of diversity, which we do.

The article seems to claim that somehow by making the Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Transvestite Intersex Queer and Questioning population feel included and safe (because the last time I checked, there are hate crimes daily toward that population) somehow will outcast the Christian population (to which I have never heard a hate crime directed towards, ever) despite the huge number of Christian organizations at KSU.

I am disappointed that this kind of bigotry is going to come up in search engines and represent my amazing school. I’m disappointed that, in the wake of Syrian war, governmental shutdown, and the ongoing NSA scandal, that this is the kind of news you chose to share.

I have to admit, that I have never heard of your publication, and unfortunately, this experience will likely cause me to disregard future interaction with it. Please consider this opinion (as it is a popular one, from what I saw in the comments of the article) when choosing future articles.

I see it the other way. I'm glad they published the article.

Now that man will see one of the consequences of free speech: Public ridicule.
