This Sunday, most people will not notice the large assemblage of veterans and their family members near the Obama-closed, chained and locked streetscape that is the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

They won’t notice because the American mainstream media, long in the bag as Obama PR hacks, won’t cover the event, which was planned by the group Special Operations Speaks and, first responders to the egregious and disturbing news last week that Obama gave our national Park Service instructions to “make this shutdown hurt,” especially for the elderly veterans and military families that he considers pawns in his petty dictatorial efforts to beat back opposing but legitimate groups of American lawmakers.

In fact, after the first day, when his park service turned Honor Flight groups away from the open air plaza (the memorial is a LANDSCAPE!) and told they could not view tributes to the very divisions they CREATED so long ago in order to save our world from tyranny and chaos, Obama and his government workers doubled down on their plans to “make it hurt.”

When veterans broke triumphantly through the crime scene tape on Day One (not all are in wheelchairs and on oxygen), the busy worker bees of the park service — may karma catch up to them one day — were instructed to erect metal barriers, wired together. Park Service German shepherds were brought out, shades of Hogan’s Heroes but not remotely funny. And one could easily visualize the petty occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (who closed military commissaries but kept his beloved military golf course open) wringing his hands together and cackling, “Ha, I showed them” — a shallow, immature joke of a president whose understanding of the word sacrifice means inviting one less rap star to the latest White House soiree.

Meanwhile, as word of the memorial lockout leaked via Internet to veterans and their supporters across the country, port-o-johns were donated by private companies but were turned away by the power drunk and “unashamed” park rangers, new friends of VP Joe Biden, who twitted his support for their tactics (yes, twit). Liberal groups sent paid protestors to the area to try to counter the growing political damage to the president, but they were overshadowed by a large immigration rally, endorsed and allowed by Obama’s park goons and congressional Democrats at the nearby National Mall.

Obama’s message was clear: Illegal aliens can gather under the Constitution, but not veterans.

This last week, Americans (but somehow not the national media) saw the shameful proof of what we’ve known for a long time.

Obama and the Democrats hate the military, they infantilize, punish and use the troops as political pawns regularly.

But on Sunday, veterans plan to take back their turf by sheer numbers and a determination that the country they sacrificed for not be lost to petty tyrants and faceless bureaucrats. They rally NOT for Obamaphones, entitlements, special treatment or a political party. They rally for their brothers, for dignity, for honor, for America.

This editorial is so wrong on so many levels. Let's start with why the national parks were closed. During the shutdown, only ESSENTIAL personnel stay on the job, and then unpaid (except Congress, of course). The national parks are not essential to the safety of the country, so they are all closed. As are many other parts of the government.

Second, why were the parks closed - because the Republicans have sworn since day one to do everything they can to against Obama, no matter what he might propose or how sensible it may be. They shut the government down trying to defund Obamacare, a law passed by Congress and ruled constitutional by SCOTUS.

Finally, the Democrats are not anti-military. They are just as patriotic and supportive as Republicans. To suggest otherwise just ignores the facts.
