Reid Clayton Pickett, age 69 of Canton, GA, passed away Saturday October 12, 2013 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. A Graveside service with full Military Honors will be held at 2:30PM Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Georgia National Cemetery. Mr. Pickett served as a Captain in the United States Army serving 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and awarded The Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm, Purple Heart, Silver Star w/ 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters &V Device, Bronze Star Medal w/ 4 Oak Leaf Clusters &V Device, Air Medal and 4 Oversea Service Bars. He is survived by his wife; Marilyn M. Pickett, Canton, son, Kevin (Christine) Pickett, Marietta, daughter; Kesia (Clare) Hiler, Cartersville, son, Patrick Mills, Canton, brothers; Leslie Pickett, Kokomo, IN, Michael Pickett, Kokomo, IN, Jeffrey Pickett, Tipton, IN, sister; Margaret “Mickey” (Gary) Ryan, Tipton, IN, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
