A lieutenant with the Canton Police Department was one of 47 law enforcement administrators to complete a training course for the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police in Duluth.

Lt. Jeff Tucker attended the Chief Executive Training Class for newly appointed chiefs of police and heads of law enforcement agencies at the Dr. Curtis E. McClung Training Center in late September and early October, said Pacer Cordry, spokesman for Canton Police.

The 60-hour course is required by state law for all newly appointed heads of police agencies and is designed to give its students personnel training on management and to inform them of laws and policies affecting their departments, Cordry said.
