Conner Blackwell, a 2010 Etowah High School graduate, is one of five finalists chosen for the Homecoming Court this weekend at the University of Georgia.

UGA plays Appalachian State University today at 12:30 p.m. in Athens as part of homecoming activities.

Blackwell is majoring in medicine at the Athens campus and will graduate in May 2014 when he plans to attend medical school.

At UGA, he was in the Redcoat Marching Band his freshman year. He has served on the Judiciary Council for the last two years.

Blackwell was also senior class president at Etowah.

Blackwell is the son of Montez Blackwell, who teaches at Teasley Middle School and David Blackwell. The family lives in the Eagle Watch subdivision in Woodstock.

His older brother is Tyler Blackwell, who graduated from Reinhardt University where he played basketball.

Blackwell is the grandson of the late Bob and Wynell Blackwell of Waleska and late A’Delbert and Rebecca Bowen of Cuthbert.
