A popular offering is the Princess Teas, held throughout the year, for young ladies and their mothers and friends. In December, a Christmas tea with Belle of “Beauty and the Beast” was held.

The next Princess Tea is Jan. 3 with Cinderella, and Jordy said the food will be fit for a princess.

“These are popular events, so call in advance,” Jordy said.

The Princess Tea is at 4:15 p.m. and the cost of $16.50 per person includes tea, treats, tax and gratuity.

The tea room is also a perfect spot for bridal showers and birthday parties, she said. Afternoon tea includes seasonal fresh fruit, freshly baked scones with lemon curd and amaretto cream, assorted tea sandwiches, miniature tea desserts and a choice of chicken salad on a bed of lettuce, a chicken salad croissant, or a sun-dried tomato tartlet, as well as a pot of tea. Cost is $14.50 per person.

After lunch, patrons can stop by the ever-evolving gift shop, Jordy said. The shop offers baby gifts, jewelry, tea accessories and holiday home décor.

During the holidays, tea trays are decorated for the season.

The last chance to have afternoon tea or lunch before Christmas is Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shop will reopen Dec. 26.

Tea Leaves and Thyme is at 8990 S. Main St. in Woodstock. Reservations can be made by calling (770) 516-2609.

Normal hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. and the last reservation is taken at 4 p.m.
