WALESKA — A candlelight vigil for a woman who died a year ago in a car accident on Highway 108 is planned Sunday.

Cortney Jade King, who was 24 at the time of her death Jan. 5, 2012, will be remembered at Hillside Community Church of God in Waleska at 6 p.m.

King lost control of the car she was driving and died in the single-car accident. She was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said at the time. Her 5-year-old niece was with her, but was buckled into a child-restraint seat and received only minor injuries.

The church is at 12487 Fincher Road in Canton.
