In his first season with the Warrior offense after previously playing in the defensive secondary, Brown prospered with 80 catches for 1,137 yards — a Class AAAAAA high for the regular season — and seven touchdowns.
Brown was one of three Cherokee players on the all-region team, joining quarterback Spencer Ashley and linebacker Michael Bean.
With Brown a frequent target, Ashley threw for 2,276 yards and 16 touchdowns as Cherokee finished 5-5 and narrowly missed its first state playoff berth since 2008.
Etowah was represented by running backs Brandon Engle and Raishod Devezin, offensive lineman Brad Morgan, kicker Edwin Alfaro and defensive lineman Chandler Steele.
Woodstock had four all-region players — offensive lineman Blake Jacobs, wide receiver Reagan Amos, defensive lineman Tyler Baggett and defensive back Chris Mowery.
A total of 17 other local players — seven from Etowah and five each from Cherokee and Woodstock — were honorable mentions.
Lassiter’s Jep Irwin was named the region’s coach of the year, with Wheeler safety Allen Artis the top defensive player.
Milton led with six all-region selections, followed by Etowah, Lassiter and Walton with five apiece. Wheeler had three and Roswell two.
