Barry Shaw Jones
Barry Shaw Jones
Barry Shaw Jones, 50, of Canton, GA left us suddenly and far too soon on April 1st. Barry was born in Atlanta, GA on November 12, 1963 to Lorraine Shaw Jones and Ben Perry Jones, Sr. Barry lived his life out loud - a true original. He was a free spirited soul who loved nature, the great outdoors, motorcycles, animals, Bud Light, Two Fingers Tequila, Marlboro’s, Halloween, bonfires, chainsaws, moonshine Popcorn Sutton, being in charge, hiking with his nephew, landscaping, Kid Rock, Uncle Cracker, his wife’s cooking, flammable substances, and anything that blows up. He loved eating healthy food as long as it was fried. Most of all he loved his wife Sabrina and mother Lorraine Jones. Sabrina was the love of his life - his schoolyard sweetheart with whom he reconnected with later in life. He didn’t even know he loved kids until Sabrina brought grandkids to the marriage. He adored his mom and was the best son to her, even as he gave her more grey hairs. Barry, the youngest of three siblings, was predeceased by his brother Ben Perry Jones, Jr on December 2013. Like many of his birth order, he was “born to rebel.” He lived life his way, by his rules. He was outspoken and direct, whether you liked it or not. And he was stubborn. But he was big-hearted and always ready to help anyone in need no matter what. He took good care of his mother, brightening her life daily. He loved mentoring youth and hosting holidays and parties. In fact, he was the life of the party. We will greatly miss Barry’s love and bright light. He is survived by his wife, Sabrina Hubbard Jones; his stepchildren Stephanie Carnes of Canton, Shanna Carnes of Rockmart, Chance McCurry of Canton; six step-grandchildren; his mother, Lorraine Jones of Canton; his sister Vaughan Jones Acton of San Francisco, California; and his nephew Jeremiah Jones and niece Rachel Jones of Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation will be held Friday 4:00-8:00 p.m. and a memorial service will take place Saturday at 2:00 p.m., both at Darby Funeral Home in Canton.
