A Ball Ground resident is sharing her Christianity and beliefs in a new book.

Carolyn Ingram has written “My Conversations with God!” and will be available for a book signing at her publisher, Yawn’s Books and More, on April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Through my many years of being a Christian, I have always had a desire to grow closer to God. I have found that if I want a closer relationship with the Lord, I must spend time with Him,” Ingram said. “Even as a young wife and mother, I would find some time to spend with the Lord — sometimes it might only be 10 or 15 minutes, but I was committed.”

Through the years, especially after her children were grown and out of the home, Ingram found she was able to have her “quiet time the first thing in the morning.”

“Then I began to journal, to write down my thoughts about God and what He was doing in my life; special scriptures He would give me, and the many things he was teaching me,” she said. “Oh, these times were, and still are, so special. This way of meeting with the Lord became my way of life.”

Ingram is the wife of Lanier Ingram and they have six grandchildren and two sons: Keith Ingram, who is married to wife Ruth and Ken Ingram, whose wife is Jeannie.

She is an active member of New Covenant Bible Church in Canton and has a ministry for widows and singles. Ingram also leads a Bible study for young women.

Along with journaling and writing, Ingram said she loves all sports — watching and participating in them, especially tennis.

“I have been known to get a little excited while cheering on my favorite teams,” she said.

The book costs $12.99 and will be available at Yawn’s Books & More at 198 North St. in Canton. It is also available at www.yawnspublishing.com, www.amazon.com, and www.barnesandnoble.com.
