Several forums set for this week will give local residents a chance to hear what candidates have to say.

A forum for the State House District 22 and Board of Commissioners District 1 and District 4 seats is planned for Monday. The forum is sponsored by the Cherokee County Republican Women and will take place in the historic Cherokee Courthouse in downtown Canton.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the forum slated to start at 6:15 p.m. All candidates have accepted invitations to the event, and the moderator will be Cobb County Republican Party Chairman Joe Dendy.

A candidate forum for all local, state and federal candidates running for office this year is set for Tuesday night at Cagle’s Family Farm in the Hickory Flat Community.

The event is sponsored by the Cherokee County Farm Bureau and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Council, along with Cagle’s Family Farm, and is planned to take place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Cagle’s Family Farm.

WLJA radio station Vice President Michael Searcy and Rebecca Johnston, managing editor of the Cherokee Tribune, will moderate the forum.

There will be a meet and greet before and after the forum. The Cagle’s Family Farm is at 362 Stringer Road in Canton.

The Cherokee County Republican Party will provide a Governor Candidate Forum Thursday at the Northside Hospital Cherokee County Conference Center at 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the forum begins at 7 p.m.

Gubernatorial Republican candidates John Barge and David Pennington will be on hand to answer questions from members of the media and the audience.
