On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to congratulate Cherokee County community leader Pat Tanner, who received the Liberty Bell Award, and the family of the late John Martin, who was honored with the Robert F. “Bob” Stubbs Award for Distinguished Service, during the recent Law Day luncheon co-sponsored by the Blue Ridge Bar Association and the Rotary Club of Canton.

Additional congratulations and thanks are extended to Superior Court Chief Judge N. Jackson Harris, Cherokee County Associate Probate Judge John Cline and others who participated in the Law Day program, which featured remarks by Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens.

All Georgia lawyers can be inspired by our colleagues’ dedication to raising public awareness of the legal system. Successful efforts such as these serve to fulfill the constitutional promise of justice for all.

Charles L. Ruffin

State Bar of Georgia president
