Servidyne, at 1945 The Exchange SE in the Cumberland area, announced that it is celebrating its 40th year in energy efficiency.
Founded in 1974 by E. Milton Bevington, the company is now owned and managed by a group of longterm employees from its award-winning engineering team. The company is focused on providing energy and sustainability consulting to the building industry as an independent consultant. “It seems strange to launch a new company that has a 40-year history, but that’s what Servidyne is. We’re building on the visionary legacy of Milt Bevington from the mid-1970’s; construction management experience from our tenure under Abrams Industries ownership; and involvement with advanced software analytics and energy efficiency financing as a division of SCIenergy,” said Barry Abramson, one of Servidyne’s new principals.
Servidyne is now led by three principals who have worked together for almost 30 years. Abramson has been with Servidyne since 1981. Jim Poulos first joined Servidyne in 1988 before he and Lung-Sing Wong founded their own firm, Building Performance Engineers, in 1996.
In 2004, Servidyne purchased BPE, reuniting the three principal engineers.
”I am honored to be a part of the new leadership team at Servidyne. Throughout my 30-plus years in the industry, I have known Servidyne engineers to provide the highest quality technical services and advice to clients.
Our engineering team and focus remain the same, building strong relationships to truly understand our clients’ needs and to develop solutions that maximize efficiency, minimize operating costs and exceed sustainability goals,” said Poulos.
Servidyne’s services include benchmarking and strategic planning, energy audits, retrocommissioning, demand response strategies, energy modeling, investment grade audits, sustainability assessments and LEED consulting.
The company has also achieved 12 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Awards.
