Mr. Bobby L. Blackwell, age 80, of Waleska, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Herman Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Blackwell served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Salvage Disposal Officer from the Department of Defense and owner of Blackwell Insurance Agency in Canton. Mr. Blackwell was a member of the American Legion, the Lion's Club, the Jaycee's and the Waleska First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon and Cora Lee Blackwell; brother, Herb Blackwell; and sisters, Lissie Ammons and Jewell Maxwell. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wynell Blackwell of Waleska; children, Susan and Jim Kea of Roswell, David and Montez Blackwell of Woodstock and Eddie and Denita Blackwell of Waleska; grandchildren, Chris and Lynette Lawrence of Buford, Drew Blackwell of Waleska, Cameron Kea of Roswell, Tyler Blackwell of Woodstock, Lexanne Kea of Roswell, Conner Blackwell of Woodstock and Emily Blackwell of Waleska; several nieces and nephews also survive. The Grumpy old Men Sunday school Class and Bill and James Cline will be serving as honorary Pallbearers.
