Cathy Scheibe, age 53, of Woodstock, GA passed away October 21, 2009. Cathy taught business and computer applications at Woodstock Middle School for the past five years, prior to that she taught at Pope High School in Cobb county. Before becoming a teacher, Cathy had worked in the corporate world employed by such companies as IBM, NYNEX and MCI. She was a member of Woodstock First Baptist Church where she has been an elementary Sunday School teacher and upward basketball coach. Currently pursuing her doctorate in instructional technology at Kennesaw State University, Cathy was a lifetime learner. Cathy is survived by her husband Jim Scheibe of Woodstock, daughters, Emma Scheibe and Nora Scheibe both of Woodstock, father, Loy Cape of Cumming and sister, Deborah Spears of Canton. She was preceded in death by her mother Thelma Cape and brother Loy Cape, Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bruce Farmer will officiate. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 23, 2009 from 6 until 9 PM at the funeral home. Although I do not know you personally, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. My family and I have suffered through many personal tragedies and deaths and my heart goes out to you. We were greatly comforted by the promises the Bible holds out to us. It promises a time when "He (God) will actually swallow up death forever and...will certainly wipe the tears from our faces" (Isa. 25:8,9). It also promises that, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...to a resurrection of life" (John 5:28,29). While we wait for the wonderful fulfillment of these promises, it is comforting to know that "Jehovah (God) is near to those that are broken at heart; and those crushed in spirit he saves." (Ps. 34:18). I hope you may draw some comfort from turning to the scriptures and those close to you during your great time of need.
