Mr. John T. Sparks Sr., age 98, of Canton, GA, died on Thursday January 14, 2010 at the Canton Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday January 18, 2010 from the Chapel of the Darby Huey Funeral Home, interment in the Reinhardt Chapel Cemetery, Rev. Floyd Tenney, Rev. Ed Towers, Rev. Tommy Lockhart officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday 3 PM - 6 PM. Survivors are wife, Mary Sparks, Canton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, John and Charlotte Sparks, Ball Ground, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne & Joe Parker, Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Meredith & Jackson Woodson, Daphne AL, Nathan & Beth Parker, Kennesaw, GA and Katie Sparks, Ball Ground, GA. Mr. Sparks has lived in Canton, GA since 1928 where he was a prominent businessman and civic leader for many years.
