The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the historic Canton High School school board auditorium.
The update on capital outlay projects includes three elementary schools: the new school on Univeter Road east of Canton, the new school on Hunt Road in southwest Cherokee and the replacement Ball Ground Elementary School facility.
The board will also recognize Johnston Elementary School's PTA for being selected the Most Outstanding Local PTA Unit at the state convention in June.
Other items on the agenda to be considered by the board on Thursday are:
* Approval of the July 2010 financial report and sales tax update;
* Approval of out-of-state travel;
* Approval of out-of-state and overnight field trips;
* Approval of disposal of surplus property and a sale date; and
* Approval of recommendations, resignations, terminations and transfers of classified and certified employees.
