Mrs. Rebie Romans Bishop, 76, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 pm Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Jimmy Gayton officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends all day Saturday and until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home. Rebie was a member of Canton Community Church and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and being the family caregiver. She was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Tara and Megan Bishop and sister, Nell Pressley; survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lawrence Bishop of Canton; children, Patricia (Wayne) Gayton of Canton and Larry (Betty) Bishop of Ellijay; sisters, Thelma Poole of Holly Springs and Opal Mangum of the Clayton Community; grandchildren, Jimmy Gayton and Jeffrey Gayton; great-grandchildren, Michael Gayton, Tara Gayton, Caleb Gayton and Joshua Gayton; an aunt, uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
